About me

Hi, I’m a PhD student working on computational interactions and adaptive visualizations on music learning, in the HICUP research group at the University of Primorska, Slovenia, supervised by Matjaž Kljun and Klen Čopič Pucihar. Prior to that, I earned my bachelor’s (BS) and master’s (MS) degrees in Computer Science from De La Salle University, Philippines.

For my PhD research, I am exploring spatiotemporal and heuristic modeling to develop dynamic personalized visualizations for piano learners. Generally, I am interested in understanding and modeling user proficiency and designing interventions to improve their learning process. We enable this through user modeling and designing intelligent interfaces. To know the latest updates on this research you may check them out here.

On the side, I am co-founding Vice Chair and now Secretary of the Manila ACM SIGCHI Chapter. I am also Director of UX Philippines. I have served as Consultant to several startups and initiatives such as Senti AI and CityMunch.

UPDATE! 05/07/2021 - My improved research statement has been accepted as part of the Doctoral Consortium track of ACM International Conference on Mobile Human-Computer Interaction (MobileHCI 2021).

UPDATE! 31/03/2021 - My research statement has been accepted as part of the Doctoral Consortium track of ACM 29th Conference on User Modeling, Adaptation and Personalization (UMAP 2021).
